«Leadership deficit» in Europe and the implemenatation of the European project

Abstract

In the qualifying (bachelor's) paper, the process of formation of the idea of the European project and the main challenges for unification during this period are analyzed; it is shown that at the present stage of the EU's development, there is such a problem as a lack of leadership, expressed in the absence of a person, a group of persons, a state or a group of states who were able to see the “outdated thinking imperatives” of the EU and provide a “new vision” for further integration processes; the main manifestations of leadership deficit within the integration association and the essence and nature of the very problem of leadership deficit have been investigated; the reasons for the appearance of such phenomenon and possible vectors for the vision of a solution to this problem have been established.
