Abstract

In the bachelor's thesis it is investigated that with the collapse of the colonial empire the European direction became key one for Great Britain. The United Kingdom has won a strong position in the integration group and has become an "inconvenient partner" in it. It was found that the logic of integration led to the deepening of an economic and political cooperation, which caused a rise of euroscepticism, that led to a referendum that demonstrated the division of society.
