Challenges and threats of European integration at the present stage

Abstract

The problem of disintegration challenges and threats to the European Union as an integration project is studied in the qualifying bachelor's thesis. The disintegration trends that have been gaining momentum in the European Union for the last 20 years are threatening decades of integration and building a supranational structure, as well as calling into question the United Europe project as a whole. The origins of disintegration tendencies, and their practical manifestation are demonstrated, and perspectives and scenarios of both the evolution and degradation of the European project are analyzed. A set of reforms to avoid disintegration scenarios is proposed.
