Outdated vocabulary in a small Ukrainian historical prose

Abstract

In the qualification work investigated lexical and semantic features of outdated vocabulary of the modern Ukrainian language presented in a texts of historical stories. Outdated words were established by a continuous sample of the texts of small Ukrainian historical prose and the classification of archaisms and historisms was made. The lexical and semantic features of outdated words used in the texts of historical stories are defined. The stylistic functions of outdated vocabulary in small Ukrainian historical prose are clarified.
